(More customer reviews)I have backpacked and paddled for over 40 years and this is the first new approach to trail food that actually works. It has everything I need like precise weights for each recipe and daily/weekly menus, and exact calorie and nutritional information. For the first time I know how many calories I'm really getting and with a known baseline can make smart adjustments as needed. It has changed the way I think about trail food and gives me information I have not been able to find anywhere else. Travel Light-Eat Heavy is also a fun book to read with lots of extra information that I didn't expect from a food book.
If it sounds like I'm sold on McCartney's new book, I am! It is by far the best one I have ever read. If you are interested in learning a better way to have practical, light-weight trail food, Travel Light-Eat Heavy is it!
